Lars LEY

I am Lars Ley, the artist and ringmaker behind Artinrings.

Since 2020, I have been creating wearable one-of-a-kind pieces and independent bodies of work in my studio in Dudelange.
My work moves between craftsmanship and conceptual art – reduced in form, precise in execution and clearly defined in its themes.

Professionally, I work in logistics and fleet management.
Before that, I worked as a nurse and later as a nursing services manager.
The combination of close encounters with fundamental human experiences, responsibility and organisational structure continues to shape my artistic approach today.

Many of my series explore transformation, transience, illness, time and memory.
I work with steel, ceramic, wood and minerals, as well as materials of biographical or historical significance.
Each piece is made by hand – either as a self-contained individual work or as a bespoke commission.

I speak German, French, English and Luxembourgish.

In developing Artinrings, I also use generative AI as a creative and editorial tool. Some title and atmospheric illustrations on this website were created with the support of generative AI. Images of the rings and artworks depict the actual works.
