Neighborly Disaster – Blood and Oil
Neighborly Disaster – Blood and Oil
A ring crafted from the stock of an old rifle.
Two narrow stripes of luminous powder in the colours of Ukraine recall a nation
defending itself against the brutal invasion of its neighbour.
The back of the ring was hammered, splintered –
then repaired with black resin (oil) and red resin (blood).
The fracture remains visible, a mark of the wounds that violence creates
and of the perverse bond between war, profit and suffering.
A wearable symbol of brutality, futility and greed –
against aggression, for solidarity and humanity.

Concept
The piece reflects on war as both an economic and moral collapse.
Blood and Oil exposes the grotesque link between destruction and profit, between national trauma and global opportunism.
The cracks remain unsealed – because some wounds must stay open.
