Four Years in a Row: Artinrings Receives the Certificat de Valeur Artistique Once Again

Introduction

In 2025, Artinrings was once again honored with the Certificat de Valeur Artistique awarded by the Pinacothèque as part of the Luxembourg Art Prize.
This year, the submitted works from the series “The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse”Hunger, Illness and Death — were recognized.

This continues a remarkable sequence:
For four consecutive years (2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025), a work by Artinrings has received this distinction.

The series will conclude in 2026 with its fourth and final piece: War.

The Three Honored Horsemen

The recognized works belong to the series “The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse”, which explores fundamental human experiences in a symbolic and material form.
A detailed presentation can be found on the dedicated Horsemen page — here is a brief introduction to the three honored pieces:

Hunger

A historic calibration weight from an old scale, filled with burnt ash and charred rice.
A quiet symbol of deprivation, scarcity and the pressure of survival.

Illness

A ring crafted from white ceramic, interwoven with fragments of sterile latex gloves in clinical hues.
An unembellished and honest reflection on the fragility of the human body.

Death

A piece composed of steel, volcanic sand, gold leaf and the preserved remains of a hornet, whose shell and head are embedded within the structure.
A contemplative memento mori on impermanence and transformation.

The fourth and final Horseman, War, will follow in 2026.

Previous Distinctions (2022–2024)

In 2022, 2023 and 2024, Artinrings had already received a Certificat de Valeur Artistique.
Each recognition came as a quiet but meaningful encouragement — a sign that the work I create has found its place.

The pieces honored in those years differed greatly in material, theme and expression.
Each marked a step forward: an experiment, a new attempt, a continuation of the path.
These earlier stages form the background for everything I am working on today.

Personal Words

This distinction means a great deal to me.
Four consecutive years of recognition — something I never imagined when I crafted the first rings at my workbench.

Every submission is, for me, a moment of letting go: offering a work or an idea without knowing how it will be received, or whether it will be seen at all.
That the Pinacothèque has acknowledged my work over so many years fills me with deep gratitude.
It reassures me that this path — the union of material, symbolism and personal narrative — is seen and understood.

My heartfelt thanks go to everyone who accompanies Artinrings:
those who wear my pieces, collect them, share them or simply follow the journey with interest.
Without this resonance, Artinrings would not be what it is today.

Thank you — sincerely.

Looking Ahead

With every new work, Artinrings continues to evolve.
In 2026, the series “The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” will reach its conclusion with War.
Work on this final piece has already begun, and it feels like the necessary closing of a chapter — as if a circle were quietly drawing itself together.

Alongside the Horsemen, the first sketches and conceptual fragments of an entirely new series are emerging in the studio — a collection devoted to ancient words, prayers and timeless proverbs.

I call it VERBA SACRA AETERNA.

Much is still a thought, a fragment or a faint image on my worktable, but the direction is becoming clear:
a gentler, more introspective movement — away from the force of the Horsemen, toward quieter truths, toward words that accompany, comfort or challenge us.

Some materials are already set aside, and the first forms are beginning to appear.
More will follow in the coming weeks — step by step, as the words themselves find their place.

Closing & Gratitude

I look forward to everything that lies ahead — and to the journey itself.
Thank you all for your support.
